And although this article was written almost 20 years ago, it&#8217;s still surprisingly relevant today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As curriculum leaders, we know that state testing is neither all good nor all bad. Offering this &#8220;opposing view&#8221; is simply as a way to encourage deeper thought about the topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reality is that the tightrope between high-stakes testing on one side and no accountability at all on the other is a very difficult journey.
