These are designed to help students analyze through inquiry causal relationships among the colonial period, the American Revolution, and foundations of our government. (The list of sample review units begins just below the Social Studies Frameworks section on the ADE webpage.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>C3 Resources<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; The ADE Social Studies webpage also has an entire section devoted to the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arkansased.gov\/divisions\/learning-services\/curriculum-and-instruction\/resource-materials-for-lesson-plans\/social-studies\" target=\"_blank\">C3 Framework<\/a> (College, Career, and Civic Life). In addition to an overview and framework, there\u2019s a special section with archived presentations and handouts from the June 2015 two-day Inquiry Design Model (IDM) workshop. There\u2019s also a link to the <strong>New York Social Studies Toolkit<\/strong> that contains several K-12 inquiries &#8230; many of which are annotated, and all of which are free, downloadable, and may be revised to align with Arkansas Curriculum Standards. (Look for C3 Resources about midway down the ADE Social Studies webpage.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Secretary of State<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;The&nbsp;Arkansas Secretary of State&nbsp;offers a number of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.arkansas.gov\/education\/classroom-presentations\/ordering-information\" target=\"_blank\">free resources<\/a> (programs, materials, presentations) for teachers. Their Education Service Specialists even visit classrooms to share information on various topics. And if you teach High School, be sure to check out their <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LLUHt_EpP84&amp;t=5s\" target=\"_blank\">Young Voter Workshop<\/a>&nbsp;&#8230; an interactive program that seeks to get teens involved in this important aspect of American life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Discover America<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;The ADE also has compiled over 40 links to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arkansased.gov\/divisions\/learning-services\/curriculum-and-instruction\/resource-materials-for-lesson-plans\/social-studies\" target=\"_blank\">Social Studies\/History resources<\/a>. These include&nbsp;<strong>Virtual White House tours<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>100 Milestone Documents<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Colonial Williamsburg<\/strong>, and much more! (Links can be found at the bottom of the ADE Social Studies webpage under &#8220;Other Social Studies Resources.&#8221;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>National Geographic<\/strong> &#8211; National Geographic has many Arkansas specific pages like this one about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.org\/thisday\/sep24\/armed-escort-little-rock-nine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Little Rock Nine (opens in a new tab)\">Little Rock Nine<\/a>. There&#8217;s also a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/education.nationalgeographic.com\/arkansas\/\" target=\"_blank\">special Arkansas page<\/a> aligning the Arkansas 7th grade curriculum framework to specific resources (activities, videos, lesson plans, maps, etc.).
