The day before the inauguration was absolutely crazy. The streets were filled with Secret Service as Donald Trump arrived into D.C. that day. Fences blocked off every road that was on the route from the Capitol to the White House, especially the street the Trumps would walk down to their new home during the parade. It was becoming so real that history was about to happen in front of our eyes.
Early in the morning, Savannah and I had a TV interview at the U.S. Capitol with KARK4 News. The reporter, Drew Petrimoulx, asked us about our experience in D.C. and the things we had learned in our two weeks there. It was great being able to represent Arkansas Tech and share a little of our experience with our friends and family back home!

After our interview, we explored the Smithsonians and did some souvenir shopping.

Savannah and I both love the Museum of Natural History so we spent most of our time there checking out all the amazing exhibits. It feels like you’re going back millions of years in time!
My favorite part of inauguration eve was the Make America Great Again Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. Some of the entertainment included Lee Greenwood, 3 Doors Down and country music star Toby Keith. We were able to get a spot right up front! The entire Trump family including the president-elect’s children and grandchildren were there to watch with us. At the end of the celebration, Donald Trump pumped up the crowd for his inauguration the next day and the night ended with amazing displays of red, white and blue fireworks. It made me look forward to the following day even more because of all the excitement!
