There are only a few days left of in person classes. I have two written exams I have to take and three papers I have to write as finals. One written exam is on the last day of that class while the other is mid-August. I also have a written exam as well as an oral exam for my evening language course. My papers are dude between the end of August and the end of September. This is very different from what I am used to at ATU because finals are usually all within the same two-week period and then there is a break. Luckily, I do already have preliminary topics as well as starter articles for my paper and research to get me started.
I had another presentation on the 15th for a different class than before. This class was for migration and cultural memory. For this one, I had to read an article and work with two other people to create a presentation where all of us presented part of the information. The article was over cultural change in post migrant societies, specifically change through the arts. This presentation was scarier than the first one I did, but I did have a good group to work with, so I am grateful for that.
The weather has been cooler right now. It’s been windy and rainy some days. It’s weird in a way because the humidity will be the same as what I am used to in Arkansas, but because of the temperature difference, it doesn’t feel nearly as bad. It has been hard in terms of windows and room temperature compared to what I am used to. I am used to having my room be very cold and maybe having a fan going, but here I am relying on outside air for cool air, and I can’t open the window if it’s raining.
