My favorite sight at Nagoya University of Foreign studies was something that I saw everyday once I woke up. The sunrise that peaked over the university building was always the best part of my day especially since it reminded me of home. My friends were my favorite everyday sight in my opinion. Seeing their smiles and happiness were the best part of our short but long-lasting friendship. A daily smell that was my favorite part of my routine in school was the miso soup served every day at lunch after class. It was the most refreshing part of my day because it started getting cold and warmed my belly up since I would only eat a snack for breakfast. I remember when I hiked up Mt. Gifu to see the castle because I had been wanting to hike a mountain as a personal goal while in Japan. Although it took over an hour to reach the peak, it was at the top when I felt I got a refreshing breath of air. It was the greatest feeling now especially after being out of breath most of the hike up towards the castle. The udon restaurant that was a 10-minute walk from the university was another memory I am fond of. The smell of the broth would always instantly infiltrate my nose upon opening the doors. It was always the moment before eating the first bite that filled me with the most excitement because I would always eat with friends and have the best conversations about school, life and plans or even just small things. But the sound of the family mart store upon entering was one of my favorite moments during the night. It was always a late-night run to family mart that managed to get me through most days especially on nights I would stay up until 1 or 2 AM working on homework, studying for quizzes, or revising content for class the next day. The week before I left, I did manage to say goodbye to my friends. I was also able to visit a cafe I wanted to go to since I got to Japan along with a castle that is a 25-minute walk from the university.
