The Germans are already used to it; in fact, they like it so much that it\u2019s common practice to leave the windows open and let the cold air in. It\u2019s definitely something to get used to, but it\u2019s actually a healthy habit and I know I\u2019ll miss the little cultural differences. Lately I\u2019ve also gotten used to how all of the water served at restaurants is sparkling, and if you want regular water, you have to ask for it. This is funny because in the US, it\u2019s the opposite, but I actually like sparkling water more than still water now \ud83d\ude09 I\u2019m very lucky that I\u2019m staying here for a year because it\u2019ll definitely take more than 6 months to fully understand the complexities of the culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nothing much has changed again since my last blog, but I went to the Christmas market with my friends last night, and it was a lot of fun. Last week I went to Heidelberg, and it was beautiful.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to northern Germany this weekend, but I have to remind myself that I still have studying to do! I\u2019m still trying to get a job here, but I think I wouldn\u2019t have time to study and work anyway, so it\u2019s ok. Plus, I want time to be able to travel on the weekends. Next weekend, I\u2019m taking a train to Strasbourg, France \ud83d\ude42 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019m also really excited to be here for New Year\u2019s, and it\u2019ll be cool to see how they celebrate here vs in the US.
