Helloooo everyone!
The past few weeks haven’t been super exciting because I’ve been busy with school. I took a train with some friends to a cute medieval town called Marburg, where I walked around the castle and studied at cozy little coffee shops. In my free time I usually do this in nearby towns or I go out with my friends to restaurants and such. I’m very grateful for it, and I’m trying to soak it all in because when I go back to Arkansas, none of that will be possible. When I’m on campus at ATU, I just study and maybe go for a walk. I’ve also been trying to look for a job, but it’s difficult. Part of the reason is because not many people are hiring, and my German skills aren’t as good as I’d like them to be (yet!). Although, one interesting thing I’ve noticed is that my german is getting better but my english is getting slightly worse because I’m so used to hearing people speak German!
But I do have a few exciting things planned for the next few weeks. Since it’s almost Christmas season in Germany, I’m going to visit a few christmas markets. My favorite thing about German christmas markets is that they have many little food stands with all kinds of things like crepes, warm spiced drinks, Bratwursts, and so much more. The smell of it is unmatched and I know I will miss it when I go home. These markets are one of my favorite things about Germany! Also, as I said in my last blog post, I’m going to Denmark this week to visit one of my friends, which I’m really looking forward to and I think it’ll be a lot of fun. But I’ll probably have to do some schoolwork on the train ride up!
Until next time,
Roxi
