Classroom observations are a vital component in maintaining and improving instruction. And a clearly-defined, easy-to-use form can go a long way toward focusing each of your observations on the most meaningful elements of instruction.
Here’s one example that includes the Schmoker (2018) Effective Teaching model. Of course, there are dozens of great observation models available (including digital versions). A little sampling can help you find the one that works best for your situation.
However, the most important part is that you actually do the observations on a regular basis, and discuss the results with your teachers. Like the exercise equipment that litters American homes, even the best product will do you no good at all unless you actually use it!
