- EDLD 6013 – School Organization and Leadership. This course is a study of the organization and structure of public schools and the educational leader’s role in connecting people, purpose, and practice. Students will evaluate an existing school schedule and propose a new master schedule that addresses two key areas of concern.
- EDLD 6023 – Organizational Change. This course is a study of the principles of organizational change and how they relate to educational institutions. Students will evaluate existing school programs and write a proposal for a focused improvement plan that can lead to an effective school change.
- EDLD 6113 – Action Research & Data Analysis. This course addresses the theories and practice of research with emphasis on action research for school improvement. It focuses on gathering, accessing, and interpreting information needed for effective decision-making for high performing schools.
- EDLD 6153 – Communication with School and Community. This course focuses on developing the knowledge, understanding, and skills necessary to establish strong systems of communication and effective relationships with diverse constituents. Students will develop a comprehensive School Communication Plan that addresses the needs of all shareholders.
- EDLD 6253 – Instructional Leadership. This course explores the principles of effective instructional leadership including the role of the principal as an instructional leader. It’s focus is the critical friend and clinical supervision models, curriculum, and data analysis.
- EDLD 6313 – Principles of Curriculum for School Leadership. This course examines the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum as it relates to school leaders with a focus on the principal’s role in facilitating effective change. Students will create a master plan for dealing with current or emerging educational trends in Arkansas.
• EDLD 6352 – Physical Environment of Schools. This course explores the effects of the physical environment of the school on instruction and learning. It includes special “crisis preparedness and response” training from the Arkansas Institute of Criminal Justice.
- EDLD 6402 – Working with the Marginal Performer. The focus of this course is the application of supervision in working with teachers who are experiencing marginal success. It includes a study of mentoring and teacher evaluation systems.
