Graduation / Program Completion

When you near completion of your Educational Leadership program, you must fill out the appropriate graduation paperwork at the beginning of the semester before your final semester. (Example: If Summer will be your final semester, this should be done at the beginning of the Spring semester.)

For those graduating with the M.A. in Educational Leadership, this is so the Registrar’s office has ample time to process your request and to add your name to the printed graduation program. Otherwise, the conferring of your degree could be delayed and you might not be listed in the program. This graduation paperwork is required even if you do not plan to march.

In addition, please note that “Endorsement Only” (certificate) students must also register for graduation since this is how the registrar’s software confirms you have completed your Program of Study. This is required even though you will not be involved in the graduation ceremonies.

Here are the directions for completing the online graduation application found in Degree Works. It describes the process in detail. If you have additional questions, please contact Michelle Price in the Registrar’s office at mprice@atu.edu.

GRADUATION CEREMONY NOTE: For students scheduled to graduate in August, if you submit your graduation application by March 1st, the Registrar will send you an email inviting you to march in the MAY ceremony. (Although you will be able to walk at that time, you will not receive your actual diploma until after the August graduation date.) If you apply for graduation after March 1st, you will be invited to march in the DECEMBER ceremony. In other words, you are only given a choice of which ceremony if you apply before March 1st.
